Oxford University Initiative for Radiation Biology and Oncology


Group Leaders in Radiation Biology and Oncology are sought for the new radiobiology initiative at the University of Oxford.

The Radiobiology Initiative at the University of Oxford is a project jointly funded by Cancer Research UK, the Medical Research Council, and the University of Oxford to create a world-class centre for research in Radiation Oncology and Biology. The new department will house 16 research groups and up to 170 scientists and clinicians in newly constructed, custom-built space on the Old Road Campus in Headington, Oxford, adjacent to the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, the Richard Doll Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics and a new cancer hospital, currently under construction.

Three new members join the SIT Committee

Three new individuals have joined the SIT Committee effective March 1st, bringing the Committee to 10 members. They are Tanner Hagelstrom (Robert Ullrich Lab, Colorado State University), Paul Wilson (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, formerly in Joel Bedford Lab, CSU), and Vered Anzenberg, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Their mandate will end in 2009.
